“Find Inspiration” With Megan Metzger

Today we are excited to feature Megan Metzger, founder of Megan Metzger Consulting, an entrepreneur consulting agency and SOWBO member!

Megan Metzger Consulting works with entrepreneurs to establish efficient systems, streamline processes, and build high-performing teams, which enables them to cultivate thriving businesses that operate seamlessly even in their absence.

MMC wants everyone to have a successful business to fulfill their goal, whether that goal is to give back to their communities, start a second business, travel the world, help support their family, or all of those! She helps her clients achieve professional success while having the flexibility to show up more fully in every aspect of their life.

Let’s get to know Megan and her work! (Also, look for her free gift to you at the end of this article.)

What is your “why” for what you do?

At MMC, our founding vision is to empower women towards financial independence. Balancing numerous roles, women often face overwhelming pressures to excel in all aspects of life. Historically, we’ve been compelled to choose between a successful career or prioritizing family care. Through entrepreneurship, we can achieve professional success while enjoying the flexibility to engage more deeply in other areas of life.

My ‘why’ is to support countless women in realizing their business potential to achieve their diverse goals—be it contributing to their communities, launching new ventures, exploring the world, nurturing their families, or pursuing a combination of these goals!

Who is your ideal entrepreneur consulting client?

Founded in 2006, MMC initially supported domestic staffing companies in their inception, growth, and operational efficiency. Since then, we have expanded our consultancy services to encompass diverse industries, including technology, coaching, real estate, professional services, and beyond.

My most cherished clients are those driven by passion and seeking guidance to transform their ideas into reality or to deliver exceptional outcomes. I am deeply committed to assisting such individuals in unlocking their potential and achieving their personal and professional goals through entrepreneur consulting.

Tell us something fun, quirky, or weird that you’d like our readers to know about you?

In my high school days, I pursued a professional singing career and had the incredible opportunity to perform in 11 European countries during a tour, including a memorable performance at Notre Dame on Easter Sunday. Nowadays, my singing mostly takes place in more familiar settings like the office, my car, or simply while enjoying a shower.

What do you do for fun outside of running an entrepreneur consulting agency?

I adore traveling! I try to visit Paris at least three times every year! Being on the back of a horse or in the ocean SCUBA diving are my two favorite places in the world.

Who inspires you?

I find inspiration in every person I work with. Each client’s story and passions drive me to provide more resources to create opportunities for learning and connections. That’s why I decided to complete a Master’s in Leadership & Organizational Development at UT Dallas—to grow personally and be a better resource for them.

What is your big scary dream?

I would love to make a real difference in childhood hunger across this country. The idea that 1 in 4 children are unsure where their next meal comes from absolutely breaks my heart.

Is there one person or thing that you attribute your success to?

I think my success is due to a culmination of experiences and a lot of strength and personal growth. The one person who has made the biggest impact in my life recently is my business coach, Candice. She is so much more than a coach; Candice is a sounding board, an encourager, the voice of reason, and my biggest fan. I’ve grown more these past two years of working with Candice than the five years prior COMBINED.

What advice do you have for those on their entrepreneur journey?

The best way to create a successful business is to treat it like a business from the start. Create a solid foundation and set up processes and systems that you follow every day. Be adaptable and change the systems to give you the greatest result, but this process will help you bring on team members efficiently and set you up for growth and success.

What book or podcast do you think every business owner should consume?

The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber teaches you the importance of systems and processes while also emphasizing the idea of working ON the business not just IN the business. It is literally what I practice and teach every day.

What is one thing you love about SOWBO and/or being a member of our community?

I love the ideas and suggestions provided by other members in the Facebook group.
